Daily and Weekly Practice
Please consider joining us via Zoom for Morning Sittings (Monday through Friday, 7:00-7:45 am), Dogen Classes (Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 pm), Sittings (Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30 pm), Precepts Studies (weekly), and EcoSattva Gatherings (monthly).
Zoom sittings always include Zen meditation (zazen) and Zen liturgy You are invited to attend all or any portion of the activities—whatever works for your schedule and inclination. We sit 25-minute periods, and do a few minutes of walking meditation (kinhin) between periods. The sitting starts formally at 6:30 pm and ends at 7:30 pm, though you are free to leave at any time. We also offer drop-in classes on the writings of Zen Master Eihei Dogen from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, which you are warmly invited to join at any time. If you are new to Zen, you may want to review Zazen Instruction.
You may also join us for new in-person weekly sittings on Sunday afternoons in Robbinston, Maine and Wednesday evenings in Norwich, Connecticut. The Robbinston, Maine sittings, which take place at the Robbinston Historical Society Building from 1:00 to 2:30, are led by Practice Leader Dawn Loper. The Norwich, Connecticut sittings, which take place at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Norwich from 7:30 to 8:30 pm, are led by Assistant Teacher Willy Heineman.
